Letter from Energy Ombudsman

22 August 2007

Ms Michelle Doherty
Plantagenet Line Upgrade Group
310 Healy Road

Dear Ms Doherty,

Thank you for your letter of 6 August 2007.

The Energy Ombudsman is an independent scheme established to resolve disputes between 'small use' energy consumers and energy providers. As such, the scheme's jurisdiction is limited to dealing with disputes involving energy distribution rather than transmission matters.

Unfortunately, the Plantagenet Line Upgrade Group's concerns regarding the proposed location of transmission lines and Western Power's consultative process for this project are outside the Energy Ombudsman's jurisdiction.

However, as these issues may be investigated by the State Ombudsman, your letter has been forwarded for assessment. The State Ombudsman's office will determine whether your complaint can be investigated and advise you accordingly.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Field
